Progress Invoicing

Is it possible to perform “Progress Invoicing” on an invoice? I am currently creating additional invoices for partial billing throughout the life cycle of an accepted quote that has been invoiced. It would be beneficial to partially bill an existing invoice.

Invoice 100
Progress invoice 1 - invoice 100-1
Progress invoice 2 - invoice 100-2
Final invoice - invoice 100-3

Hi,

You could set the partial/deposit field 3 times to accept 4 payments on one invoice.

I have clients that require a unique invoice number for each payment

In that case maybe you can use a recurring invoice?

The recuring would not remove the amount paid from the initial invoice

Rather than create 4 invoices you could create one recurring invoice which sends 4 invoices.

Hi Hillel,

Check out this link for more information on the feature.
Quickbooks has a feature that does a pretty good job at this:Quickbooks Link

This feature allows for much more flexibility when invoicing, especially for projects. Essentially, a quote/estimate is converted to an invoice; the invoice can be billed based on a percentage. Then, a new invoice can be created (whether the last one was paid or not) that references the previous invoice, whatever the new percentage owed from the original balance is, and so forth until the total balance is paid.
