Which database to use? MySQL or MariaDB?

Hi, dear Invoice-Ninja-Experts!

Just a question about advantages or restrictions about using MariaDB instead of MySQL.

As it’s recommended to use MariaDB on Arm-architected CPUs I think it should be fully compatible for Invoice Ninja to use the database, isn’t it?

mysql/mariadb will work the same with Laravel (invoiceninja’s framework), so there would be no difference in functionality with invoiceninja. Just install mariadb, it’s 100% free and no need to worry about any licensing with oracle…

Yes, the licensing-issues are something I’m trying to be always aware of. Great, I’ll use MariaDB then.
