View PDF does not do anything

Describe the bug

After creating the invoices, client portal does not show the PDF for the latest invoice. Previous invoices are listed, but the current one does not show up at all. Nothing in the browser console when the “View PDF” button is clicked.

PDF generation is working, as all emails got PDF’s attached properly.

I tried all three ways of PDFs rendering - snappdf, phantom and hosted_ninja None of the options work!
Verified that snappdf exists - (Also did ./vendor/bin/snappdf download again download

Steps To Reproduce

go to any client portal and view latest invoice. It does not show PDF in portal. You can go to “all invoices” and download the invoice. But it doesn’t display in browser at all.

Expected Behavior

Should show invoice PDF in browser.

Is there any way to force pdf invoice generation for latest batch of invoices?

I was able to isolate the issue here. I can provide a pull request for this, but it will revert some changes.

The strongest regression candidate is commit cbcf5f42d2, dated October 8, 2026 and included in v5.13.53.

For payable invoices using the newer portal flow, it changed View PDF from a direct dialog.showModal() call to open($event) through a new shared JavaScript helper, and moved the PDF dialog into an Alpine teleport. That puts the recent change directly on the click path you described. The older behavior is present in v5.13.44; the new behavior is present in v5.13.53.

The fix works locally on my server.
