Uploading old .pdf invoices / marking as paid

Hi,

Can I upload old invoices in pdf format for recordkeeping? I would want to mark them as paid also to track payments. Is this possible or do i need to use the add invoice UI to recreate the invoices?

I believe it would be better to recreate them or import them as CSV.
