"something went wrong" and logged out

Version <v5.10.48>

A strange one.

  1. i can login OK
  2. when i try and make any POST changes and click save i get an error message of “something went wrong” and i am logged out. This seems to happen when i try to save any changes.
  3. My hosting tech support DO NOT have this problem, and all works as it should when they try doing the exact same

I have tried 4 browsers, clearing cache/data, incognito mode, using a VPN to change my IP.
No error is logged in invoice ninja.

I am running windows 10 pro, standard windows firewall, Avira free AV.
The issue must me local, but what i don’t know.
All my software is up to date
This problem is recent, after no major updates.

Any ideas why this would work on 1 pc/network, and not another.

Hi,

Are you using the web app or the desktop app?

Are there any related errors in storage/logs?

the web app i think. i use the url of accounts.example.com in my browser.
(where do i find the desktop app>).
no error_log file at all in storage/logs.

  • when i run the health check, all comes back as OK.

also didnt state, as probably obvious, i tried rebooting the PC and network

I can login, view anything, i just cant save anything without the error message…

Are there any errors in the browser console?

Only console log error is onloading the page of:
“Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token ‘<’ (at plugin.min.js:1:1)”,
but the page loads fine.
The error message of “something went wrong” flashes up then i am almost instantly redirected to the login page.

You may want to post an issue on GitHub for the problem with the web app.

Any ideas as 403 is of course a permissions/forbidden error.

This is probably the reason in the desktop app too, but why 1 pc/network gets this error yet others dont… hmmm

Not sure i should post it as a GIT issue just yet, as it seems to be a local issue

PS. i am in a differnt time zone to the server but changing my PC to match the time zone makes no difference

I suggest trying the “End all sessions” option in the desktop app on Settings > Device Settings

But only 2 of these errors, and i have tried many more than 2 times to save changes
Also wrong server time for the “errors”

it must be a local error to me.
for some reason it seems to log me out (incorrect session token or something) when i try and save anything, although i can browse all the admin, just not make any changes (although others logging in with the same credentials can make changes…).
It is a really strange issue…

(i am in Spain though, so + 1 hour for me)

I believe the server should be set to UTC time
