SEPA triggered Stripe account being blocked

Hi everyone, a customer used the SEPA payment option using the Stripe payment gateway. This triggered something in Stripe, which caused my Stripe account being blocked. Since I been using Stripe for a while with other tools and integrated in other software, I’m a bit confused, why this happens now. I get that I have to ask Stripe for information about what caused the blocking, but at the same time I have quite little control over how the integration with Stripe is set up in Invoice Ninja. Anyone else have trouble with something like that? How exactly does the integration work? When is a checkout session created? What params are added to it? etc…

Hi,

@david any ideas?

you can inspect the full details within stripe for the request/response. They’ll be able to provide additional information on the why. If it does related to something we are passing in, please let us know. But this is the first we have heard of this.

Just to note, Stripe has increased their compliance activities, so it could be something regarding your ability to accept SEPA payments and perhaps some missing documentation that Stripe needs from your prior to continuing to accept those types of payments. The trend we are seeing from Stripe is that they are really turning the screws in regards to compiance across the board.

perhaps some missing documentation that Stripe needs from your prior to continuing to accept those types of payments

if that’s the case it’s kinda weird to just block the account instead of asking for the information/documents… I’m just a small customer of Stripe I guess.

thanks @david
