Self Hosted v5 does not update

Love love love Invoice Ninja! Absolutely amazing the more I work with it.

v5 installed on Cloudways hosting. I receive the notification that an update is available, click on update, enter my password, the spinner appears for a bit… but the app does not update. I then receive a popup notification that an update is available.

I’ve searched everywhere I can think of to find a solution to no avail. Any tips would be appreciated! Could it be a permissions issue?

Do you see a message after trying to run the update?

A common problem is manual changes to files or not having Git installed.

Bingo! I do not have Git installed. I’ll look for a guide on how to do that.

It does update if I upload the new version by ftp and overwrite everything except the env but that’s time intensive.
