We name our products a diffirent name than what our vendor sells them to us. How hard would it be to add a field called vendor description so when we order that description will show up and not our name for the product.
You can use custom fields for this.
In Settings > Custom Fields add a custom field for products called Vendor Description.
I am guessing you want to be able to send purchase orders with this vendor description, so it needs to be visible for the vendor but not visible for the client
