Is the self hosted version equivalent to the Free or Pro plan?
Hi,
All Pro and Enterprise features from the hosted app are included in the selfhost version.
We offer a $30 per year white-label license to remove the Invoice Ninja branding from client-facing parts of the app.
To further clarify the free self-hosted version has an “InvoiceNinja” branding and logo that forces itself into the customer portal, all generated pdfs, and the bottom of any email sent through the instance. When you white-label all the above change to your branding (interesting thing is the copyright changes too… but it’s fine…).
What will not change, even with white-labeling, is the employee/employer dashboard. That will always have the InvoiceNinja branding… not a horrible implementation
You will find that all features and options are available in self-host no matter if you white-label or not but you’ll still see the “Advanced Settings” title and “Pro” logo. Hint in case you don’t understand what self-hosting InvoiceNinja means = you’ll have to handle your own SMTP service.
One benefit with self hosting is you have access to the raw code on your own instance. Another very valuable benefit is you control when the instance is updated so you can validate everything yourself… or maybe decide to not update for one reason or another. There is no way in the platform to select which version you update to if you update through it.
One thing to note with the $30 subscription is for some reason, and it may just be me, the link goes to where you enter the name to continue and not the webpage before it where you enter an email so it provides an error… but easily fixed if you use a little bit of deductive reasoning. Another thing to note about the subscription… there is no way to modify/cancel or change it in the platform… it’s just a time-based license key entry.
Overall assessment… I paid at because I’m actively using it in a business environment and well… they earned the $30… it’s a solid platform (that is missing things… but they aren’t show stoppers… of course in my opinion)
