I wanted to know the status of the implementation of the Verifactu system (Spain) in IN.
From what I have seen in other threads and in the published documentation, it seems that it is going to be implemented, but I am not sure what the current status is.
According to the documentation, IN must be linked to the AEAT (tax agency) server so that invoices can be sent, but I can’t find the place to link IN on the AEAT website.
On the other hand, according to the documentation, a Verifactu tab is enabled in the invoice editing section, but I can’t see it. Do I need to activate something in the settings?
Another aspect to take into account is that the AEAT will generate a QR code that must be inserted into the invoice. This will involve modifying the template being used. How is this integration done?
Fortunately, self-employed workers have until mid-2026 to comply, but the sooner I have the whole system ready, the better.
I’m not referring to electronic invoicing. I’m referring to the new “Verifactu” invoicing requirements that will become mandatory in Spain starting January 2026. I spoke with David, and according to what he told me, it will only be available for Invoice Ninja Hosting and not for self-hosted versions.
I run a hosting company, and we’ve been recommending self-hosted Invoice Ninja to many of our clients because it works very well. However, they’re now upset because they won’t be able to use it starting next year.
First of all, thank you for your previous replies.
I would like to request an update on the current status of the Verifactu implementation in Spain.
If this feature is not going to be incorporated in the short/medium term, we will need to consider migrating to another system.
For context:
I am currently using Invoice Ninja v5.12.34 (Self-Hosted).
If necessary, we could switch to Invoice Ninja Cloud, as long as Verifactu is supported there.
We simply need to know whether you plan to implement Verifactu, and in which version (Cloud or Self-Hosted).
The legal compliance deadline in Spain is January 1st, 2026, so we would like to be prepared well in advance.
