Having a really hard time customizing a template despite html/css knowledge

I just can’t seem to figure this out. Is there a tutorial somewhere? I’ve tried it in html mode as well as regular mode. I’m just trying to add client phone and email under their name.

You don’t need html/css for that. Go to Settings → Invoice Design → Client Details → Add Field and add the fields you want.

Addng the phone and email shouldn’t require any modifications to the template, you can add/substract fields in Settings > Invoice Design > Client Details
