I’m a French freelance web developer who recently migrated to Invoice Ninja for my invoicing needs, and I’m very happy with the platform so far! However, I’m concerned about upcoming regulatory requirements in France that will affect all businesses.
France is mandating B2B electronic invoicing starting Sept 2026 (reception) and Sept 2027 (emission). Unlike PEPPOL, this requires invoices to transit through government-certified platforms called “Plateformes Agréées” (“PA”).
Key dates:
- Sept 1, 2026: All businesses must receive e-invoices via PA
- Sept 1, 2027: SMEs/micro-businesses must emit via PA
What’s needed:
- Integration with French PA platforms OR
- Export formats compatible with French PAs (Factur-X, CII, UBL)
- Support for 4 new mandatory French fields
