Edit backup json for restore?

I have been doing a bunch of testing and tweaking, and am wondering if I can export a backup, purge the entire account to delete everything, edit the json from the backup and re-import it, or will that be a mess?

Mainly I just want my products, custom templates and terms settings.

I took the plunge and purged it, and really it did just what I needed, kept all my settings, but purged all clients, transactions and products. I already had my products in a CSV, so I imported them again and I’m off to a fresh start without having to mess with the json backup.
