Differentiation between Angebot (Quote) und Kostenvoranschlag (cost estimate)

Hey,

I have just been discussing with a client regarding the subject “Quotes”. As per German regulations, there’s a distinction in the terminology for various types of “offers” that exist. The customer requires differentiation between two kinds of proposals during the creation process: Angebot (Quote) und Kostenvoranschlag (cost estimate).

The main difference between an Angebot (Quote) and a Kostenvoranschlag (cost estimate)
is that the offer Quote its included prices are binding, which means that the company undertakes to carry out the work at the specified price. A cost estimate, on the other hand, is non-binding, i.e., it is only a rough calculation, and the company can calculate more or less depending on the effort involved. If the calculated expenditure exceeds the actual effort, additional costs arise and the final price increases.

Is there a chance for this to work with the current version of Ninja Invoice?

Hi,

One option may be to use custom designs to distinguish between the two types of quotes.

That would be a temporary fix I think, because the problem with that is, that automated fields, example quote number, will not auto translate.

It’s possible to customize the field labels in the design.

You can also create an issue on GitHub to request the feature:

I took some Time to customize the field labels in the design for now I think that should work. The only field im unable to customize is the Quote Terms Heading for the second desing type, any idea how to handle that?

You can configure a custom label on Settings > Localization but it will affect all designs.

Thanks, the problem is I have to use both wordings. It’s kinda the same but two different subtypes.

Maybe you can use a custom design?

I will look into this over the weekend, if that is possible.
