Client portal create account does not set fields

When a client clicks the View Invoice link and are taken to the client portal, they are presented with a login prompt, as desired. Clicking the “create account” link prompts for name, email, phone, and password and, once completed, allows access to the invoice. However, logging out and trying to log in again with the same password fails.

Looking at the user record, there is no password set, nor did the phone number get set.

If I use the “forgot password” link, then the password is correctly set.

I would expect either the create account should fail if the account exists, or it should update it with the new information when created.

Am I misunderstanding the expected behavior?

I just tested this and it appears the password is being set from my tests.
