You can use any format CSV file, after you upload the file you’ll be able to map the columns.

The suggestion provided by Hillel to use the web app for importing quotes by line items should work well.

If however you are wanting to still further customize the process by using the InvoiceNinja API I would be glad to help you out, as I have worked on some complex projects in the past utilizing the InvoiceNinja API
