Update invoice API issue?

Hey guys,

I’ve had a zap that is triggered by updated invoices, and I’ve had it working for several months now. Yesterday it stopped working, and it actually won’t even allow me to turn the zap on.

All other Invoice Ninja zaps work, this is the only one with issues.

This is the response I get from Zapier when I try to turn on this zap:
We were not able to turn on your Zap “Updated Invoice to List of Materials” due to the following issues after running our checks…
Step 1 - Update Invoice in Invoice Ninja
The app returned “The given data was invalid.”.

Looking at Zapiers help docs, this type of error is usually due to an issue on the app side.

That said, I am able to test the trigger and pull in recently updated invoices. I also confirmed my connection between Zapier and Invoice Ninja is good.

Any ideas?

Hi,

Are you trying to update an invoice in Invoice Ninja or are you triggering a zap when an invoice has been changed?

It may help if you can send the request/response from the Zapier logs.

Some changes were made to Webhooks in v5.5.66. I haven’t been able to test but it might have something do to with these changes.

Trying to trigger a zap when an invoice has been changed.

Because the zap won’t even turn on, there are no request/response logs.

Have you tried creating a new zap with the same configuration?

I just created a new one with same configuration. Same issue as well.

I can even test the final action of sending info from this updated invoice to google sheets, and the test works. It just won’t allow me to turn the zap on.

@david are there any changes which may be related?

The update invoice webhook is firing reliably for me in my tests.

Is this the only zap that is misbehaving?

Yep this is the only one. I have several other zaps, though none of them use the ‘watch for updated invoice’ trigger.

I haven’t used Zapier much, does it give some logging? Usually when the zap is disabled it means there are other problems that are not related to receiving the actual webhook?

I’m getting the same thing happening with new invoice triggers. I tried updating to a the latest version of invoice ninja in zapier aswell but same thing. This is what Zapier emails me about the trigger. It’s been working flawlessly until the 6th.
