Yes, it used to work fine, then it started failing for the last few versions, and now it’s working again with v5.2.1-C51, which I just updated to!

@david FYI, I did two more auto updates to the new versions over the last few days and both worked without an issue too, so whatever was glitching with the auto updater (on my server at least) back with 5.1.72 seems properly fixed now. So thank you!
