Unapplied Payment - Invoice shows paid

Version v5.11.17-C172

I recorded a payment, as I was saving the payment, I got a 500 error. Now the payment is marked as unapplied, however the invoice is showing as paid.

How do I correct this situation?

I solved this by manually editing the SQL table, several payments subsequent to this payment were processed without trouble.

We strongly recommend against making manual changes to the database, doing so may prevent us from being able to provide help in the future.

If you can share the details about the 500 error from storage/logs we can look into the problem.
