Stand alone payment email - no invoice

I can’t remember if I’ve asked and searched other threads for this scenario…but when I enter stand alone payment that a client has pre-paid, with no invoice attached…it does not send them a payment email even when I have that option selected. I need to be able to send a confirmation/receipt that payment was received.

I have no issues when applying a payment to receipt, client receives the confirmation.
