Invoice Ninja v2.0

@omairaza, this app will be written in Flutter and PHP, so i’m not sure you’ll be able to integrate this into any other ecosystem which doesn’t support these two technologies.

I want use invoice ninja to test with my company. But can it used in language Vietnamese?

Vietnamese isn’t complete, if you’re interested you can help work on it here:

Hi, is there any update on the launch of v2? Thanks

Join us on the #v2 channel on Slack to help hammer out the details for the next version of the app

The Slack link here doesn’t seem to work?

Thanks, we’ll look into it…

The Slack link should be working again

I really apologize because I’m probably being a little dense, but I just can’t figure out the version thing.

I’m running Invoice Ninja - v4.5.14 | White labeled, self hosted.

How does this fit in to the new “Version 2” that you’re working on?

Will 4.5.x get any new enhancements or is it already far ahead of v2?

I guess the question is, are the version numbers sequential where 4.x is ahead of 2, or is v2 actually ahead of 4.x? Or are they completely separate creations and will never meet?

Thanks!

Terry

v2 is a rewrite of the app, it will replace v4.

v4 will not get any new features, all future development is focused on v2.

Thanks!

Too late now but maybe it should have been called v5 or something. :sunglasses:

Have to disagree… the vast majority of users are on our hosted platform and aren’t aware which version they’re using, calling the next version ‘v2’ is clearer for them than calling it ‘v5’.

Although we have still have a fair amount of work remaining we’re able to share a live demo of the new v2 admin interface. If you’ve been using our new mobile app it should look very familiar as they share the same codebase. It’s fully responsive and will load differently on a phone or desktop.

A few years back we were managing three separate codebases (web, iOS and Android), having a single codebase will have a massive impact on our productivity.

It’s important to note we have a number of changes we’re working on to make better use of a the wider desktop display such us adding an option to show the records as a table in place of the list view.

One key new feature to point out is the new groups option under Advanced Settings. You can use groups to control the settings of a selection of clients, we think this will be very powerful.

If you have the time to try it out we’d greatly appreciate any feedback! The app is built with Flutter, I believe this is currently the single best option for cross-platform development. If you’d like to try building the app it’d be great to get more contributions to the code
