is there an implemented way to split a quote into two or more invoices, so I can send my customer an invoice only about hardware but the offered service will be invoiced seperately?
This is not supported. The only way to work this would be to create the partial due amount as the first payment amount, and the balance will update for the remainder.
How do I register a payment as the partial due amount? When I enter a new payment, it won’t change the amount to pay of the invoice. I guess I’ll have to write a special designs for so called “Anzahlungsrechnung” (deposit invoice) and “Abschlussrechnung” (final invoice).

Hm, so the invoice itself stays the final invoice. Not so good for German legals.
The invoice never changes. only the balance on the invoice changes.
