Errors on a new clean setup on Ubuntu 20: "Error 500" or "delete .env" Issue

Hello,

I am a new user here, Having a few issues. Please help? (I’ll buy you a Coffee!! :slight_smile:)

Getting the error below…I have this installed and set up…
“Error: app is already configured, backup then delete the .env file to re-run the setup”

If I run the command “sudo rm .env” under the my /var/www/invoice-ninja
It will allow me to go to the setup page… But Once I fill out my info and select… It gives me a Error 500.

That guide is for v4 not v5

Just saw the link… yes its 4.5
I will reinstall with 5.

Installed with 5.4 but still getting an error 500 when trying to setup or config a new installation. Can anyone help? or guide me in the right direction?

Are there any details about the 500 in storage/logs?

Hi Hillel,
I saw a few post about permissions… followed it… and rebooted the system.
Once I rebooted I was able to get to the login screen now.

Will report back if I have any issues. But looks like the new install is working now. Hope no errors or issues.
