email notification weirdness

When recurring invoices and reminders are sent, I get two email notifications for each item sent.
There are two users, John and Nancy. Both John’s (me) and Nancy’s notification is going to the same email address - John’s. Though one says “Dear John, the following client…” and the other says “Dear Nancy, the following client…”

How do I get Nancy’s notification going to her?

Each user can modify their notifications settings to only receive notifications for their invoices.
