Thanks a lot for this long awaited release! I would like to start testing with PEPPOL, since it will be mandatory in Belgium starting from Jan '26. During setup, i’ve discovered that credits are needed with options for 500 and 1000 credits. I totally whished you offered a 250 credits option. This would allow me to start playing with it and not waste any credits too.
please consider a smaller credit package for tiny businesses and people who just want to test it.
Great to see this happening! I was investigating several options for utilizing Peppol and I feared I had to move away from Invoice Ninja - great to see that is is being supported in Belgium already!
That being said, the reality is that my company is tiny and I barely hit 20 invoices last year, with incoming I might have hit about 50. So being forced to buy a package of 500 credits for 50 USD plus the whitelabel fee of 30 USD, it quickly becomes very expensive for me - it’s almost double the cost price that another service quoted me for unlimited invoices.
So once thing I would suggest - like others - is to see if you can possibly add smaller packages (ideally, 100 would be great for me).
Since the whitelabel license is a requirement, another suggestion I have is to slightly raise that price and have it include a few credits (e.g. 10-50?) so that people can test the Peppol integration. I find 80 USD at minimum quite a steep price before you can test anything at all - but having some credits included in the white label license makes sense to me to allow for testing.
This is just all feedback, as I love the integration within Invoice Ninja. I also don’t think that Invoice Ninja needs to be the cheapest, far from it, but it feels a bit too steep (to me).
I’d love to know who this service is!
Accessing the PEPPOL network has significant upfront costs for us as a service unlike “regular” invoicing which is essentially free.
Even at our current pricing, we do not expect to break even on einvoicing for a long time.
Aan de slag met Peppol - Doccle BE - the page is in Dutch though.
I expect the reason why they are able to offer it for that price is most likely because of scale. It is a big service in Belgium used to centrally receive invoices and documents (like payslips), so it has a huge user-base.
But please - do not see what I said as an attack. I think the Peppol integration in InvoiceNinja is amazing and I can imagine that the costs to implement and provide it are quite large indeed.
In my opinion, the costs that IN charges per credit is fair - but the packages are quite big for my use-case and I can imagine that there are others that also don’t get to 500 (or even 250) documents per year.
Thanks, i took a quick look, Doccle’s base plan was 48 eur for a basic 1 user system. But their “Pro” plan jumps to $100/month and includes a similar 500 send receives per year.
I’ll raise pricing concerns with the team, we’ll chat internally and see if there is anything we can do around this.
Our approach with our pricing was to simply try and have our costs covered to provide this service, however like any new offering coming onto the market there are a lot of providers using low pricing models to simply take market share and once they have their critical mass, they start to increase prices.
