Can't save email settings anymore?!

I don’t know why, but my email SMTP settings stopped working, I created a new password in my app apple account but I cannot save them from the GUI. I test email works but as soon as I hit save settings, my login and password reverts back to something that I don’t know and won’t work.

I also tried editing the env file with the correct info, but again, no luck, the GUI seems to pull and override info from somewhere else.

Are you using the web or desktop app?

Also, which version do you see in the about dialog?

Hi, it does the same with both mobile and desktop version

v5.11.41-M172 and v5.11.41-l172

Have you tried with the web app?

Note: you can use the .env file by choosing default in the app interface.

I just tried the web app and strangely, everything works fine while using it.

I tried reinstalling the mobile app and reintering my SMTP info and still won’t save my settings.

I cannot find that default option to force the .env file?

If you save the settings in the web app they should apply to the desktop/mobile app as well.

Unfortunately it does not. When I save them in the web app and go back to the mobile/desktop app, if hit send test email I get an error that I need to enter a valid login pass. And when I do, and save them, it resets as soon as I hit save.

What happens if you save the settings in the web app and then try sending an email in the desktop app?

Ok, seems like it’s working now. Once its saved on the web app, I don’t need to reconfigure both mobile and desktop app!
