Hey folks,
I just updated to 5.9.1 and switched to look at React momentarily but no longer see the option to go back to Flutter. There used to be a little icon on the top right that allowed this.
Is there a new way to do it?
Hey folks,

Hi,
You can run this SQL query:
UPDATE accounts SET set_react_as_default_ap = 0;
Ahh cool thank you … will that link return?
No, we’ll eventually deprecate the Flutter web app.
Is there a reason you prefer it over the React web app or the Flutter desktop app?
I much prefer the look of the grid style generally and it provides for a dark mode but I can’t find that in React…
I also much prefer how it’s consistent with the iOS app (which looks/feels like Flutter).
If I need to access it on another computer or my accountant needs to access it will React be the only option in the future?
Will the desktop app remain as Flutter?
Yes, we’re keeping the Flutter desktop app. The Flutter mobile and desktop apps share the same codebase.
Note: the Flutter web and desktop apps are nearly identical just the desktop app is faster.
There are much better invoice design features in React.
That’s why I was going t use it … but I prefer Flutter for the look and feel when working in it.
The invoice design features in Flutter are not very user friendly but in React you can use a TinyMCE style editor to format things nicely.
So … an issue with using the app - the macOS desktop app completely ignores all the email theming I had done when the emails go out.
Can this be rectified at all?
When I use the Flutter web interface it works fine and themes it black as it’s meant to be … but when using the macOS app it strips all the theming completely.
I imagine this is because I did the theming in React … but if the web interface can still read the theme, shouldn’t the desktop app be able to?
Are you referring to the preview or the actual email?
Flutter desktop doesn’t support using the browser yet so we aren’t able to display a full preview in the desktop app. The email is sent by the backend so should be unaffected by the frontend app, you can set your email as the BCC in the email settings to check it.
Ahh yes - the preview … I was reluctant to send it as I wasn’t sure how it would look.
So despite the preview showing no theming … the email that gets sent will still be as it is in the web Flutter preview?
Yes, that is correct.
I hate the react. There are so many features on the react that don’t work it makes my workday a nightmare. Plus it is hard to find the info. Beeing using react for about 5 months and still hate it. But since Flutter will disappear, I am forcing myself to use react.
Thanks for your feedback!
Is there a reason not to use the Flutter desktop app?
I am currently using flutter desktop but sometimes I need to access from the web. Going back to flutter all the way.
